Tom Taylor has been a professional photographer for more than 25 years.  Tom is self-taught with the exception of one graduate-level course at the University of Arizona.  This course was a “critique-study” and prepared the students for art exhibitions.  Tom is very technically adept with all affiliated photography equipment.  He has had a black & white darkroom continuously since the eighth grade.  Tom has worked in and managed many custom photo labs and portrait studios.  He has photographed hundreds of weddings and thousands of portraits, and his background as a counselor enables him to work effortlessly with clients from all walks of life. He has been a judge in statewide art competitions.   He regularly sells his photos as art at both this website and out of his state-of-the-art studio located within A Shooting Star Inn; a country-style bed & breakfast for astronomy and photography which he owns and operates in Kendrick Park, just outside of Flagstaff, Arizona.  Tom uses high-end digital cameras and CCD cameras for both astronomical and Earthly subjects.  He also operates an advanced-level astronomical observatory for both visual and photographic use.  Tom has received several awards for his astrophotography and was recently awarded “Best Photographer of Flagstaff” by the Arizona Daily Sun Newspaper two years in a row.
